Testimonials of Patient Stories
Story: Last year in October I had breast lift surgery with Dr. Leonard Hochstein. I previously had two breast augmentations which turned out to be very unsuccessful. My breast lift was the best thing that I have ever had done. I have very little scarring and my breasts feel wonderful. For the first time I can hardly tell that I have implants. Dr. Hochstein is a very gifted surgeon and I have recommended him to all of my family and friends. I am extremely pleased with my favorable outcome.
Story: I had breast augmentation with implants in February, 1996. I have loved having them. I am currently looking at replacement of them because I have some capsular contracture going on. Even though this has occurred, I would make the same decision all over again. I have referred several friends and family to my previous Dr. (now deceased) who have been happy with their results. I am looking forward to getting my new implants soon.
Story: I am a 31 year old mother with eight children. Rewarding myself with a breast lift and augmentation was one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time. I am pleased with my results. Before, I did not feel sexy or attractive and I never wanted to take off my shirt. Now I feel much more confident with my body.
Story: I have now had my saline breast implants for 10 years. I have not had any problems with them whatsoever. I truly do enjoy them. I was an AA cup before. I am considering having the implants replaced with cohesive gel silicone. After 10 years our skin tends to loose elasticity, and I have recently gone through menopause which seemed to have a great deal of impact on my body as well as my well being. I am now back to what I consider a healthy women of 50. I work out 4 days a week including weights, cardio and yoga. I try to eat right and I do not smoke. I am 5'4" and 120 pounds. I have always been told that I look young for my age. The problem that I find with my implants now is that they have fallen or have relaxed to more than I would like them to be. I am what you would consider a size 36 full B. I can go bigger and not look out of proportion. My doctor at the time placed the implant under the breast tissue. He said I did not have enough pectoral muscle in which to place the implant under. I thought that this might be the reason that my breasts have begun to relax so much. The plastic surgeon that I am consulting with now states that with placement either under the muscle or over, they can relax. It depends on the patient's genetics. I do enjoy the implants because I feel more like a woman. My female relatives do not have the problem that I have, so it was hard for them to understand why I wanted the implants. Now I can redo my breasts again and look better. I am doing all the research I can on silicone and talking to as many professionals as I can. I'm sure my final decision will be a good one!
Story: I am 39 years old and had a mastectomy in September, 2005. I've finished with my chemotherapy and now find myself going through the difficult part of deciding on which type of breast reconstruction to have. I would appreciate hearing some stories about implants from other women (if they would be willing to share their experience) who have also gone through this. Thank you.
Story: I had breast augmentation in 2001. I do not remember too much about it. I never received any information afterwards, and even now I have no records.
Before the procedure, during an office visit I had a fitting of saline for the bra size I wanted to be. On the day of the surgery I remember the doctor drawing in black, measurements on my breast, then being given medication and being sedated. This is all I remember about the procedure itself. After the procedure, I remember my husband driving me home and falling asleep. I do know that the implant was put over the muscle so I would be able to go back to work in 2 days. I had a lot of soreness, and redness and swelling from the procedure. I had to wear a support bra holding my implants in one position at all times. I went back to the doctor two weeks later and had the stitches taken out. They also took after (post-op) pictures of me as they had already taken before pictures in the beginning. I went back after six weeks and the doctor said my breasts were fine – perfect with no problems. I know some women experience complications with this, but through the entire procedure, I did not.
I wish now that I had more information about the complete procedure. I want to know more about my implants - how much saline they used, the effect of the future support on my implants, etc.
Although my outcome was favorable, I would like to tell other women to learn as much as they can before having the procedure done and to get all the information they can regarding their own procedure for their records just in case they need it for future reference.
Story: After having a 175 pound weight loss, as well as having given birth to four children, my breasts were in pitiful shape! I was so nervous about finding the right surgeon. This was not going to be a simple augmentation- I also needed a lift. My friend told me about Dr. Leonard Hochstein – the surgeon that she had used. After meeting him and learning of his education and experience, I decided he would be my choice for performing my surgery. I could not be happier with the outcome of my surgery. My breasts look perfect for my 5'9” frame and I have a new body image now that I love! It has been three years and my breasts still look amazing!
