"I have had saline implants for about 9 years. I am now having pain with exertion in my left breast, and it appears slightly larger than my right. It has also gotten to the point that I cannot sleep on my left side without experiencing discomfort. Is this an indication that my implant will require removal, or can something else be done?"

This is a difficult question to answer - you really need to see a plastic surgeon so that you can get a full assessment. It is not something that can be "diagnosed" by email.

You may be developing some capsular contracture and a surgical release might be indicated. Capsular contracture does sometimes cause discomfort, but only a physical examination will be able to give you the appropriate information.
