Breast Implant Task Force (BITF)
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) joined together to create the first authoritative source of information regarding breast implant and safety issues for the general public.
The web site, www.breastimplantsafety.org, offers factual, scientific information on the pros and cons of the only devices currently approved for all uses by the FDA, saline implants, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of silicone implants.
The site also covers medical research, safety information, clinical trials, links to other informative web sites, plus much more.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons in the world. With more than 6000 member surgeons, the Society is recognized as a leading authority and information source on cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. ASPS comprises 94 percent of all board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States.
