"I had breast augmentation six years ago with silicone implants. The problem is I feel that I have a leakage. What side effects are caused by a leaking implant and must the implant be removed as soon as possible?"

If you feel that your implant is leaking, you should see your plastic surgeon immediately. Symptoms of a leaking implant can include a sudden texture change in the breast, usually feeling much softer, lumps or masses in the breast or a red discoloration to the skin. I would advocate changing the implant, perhaps not at the immediate moment, but soon, within the next two weeks to avoid any possible further complications such as infection or gel migration.
